It's worth a try...

I haven't done a 'regular' blog in quite awhile.  I used to be quite consistant with it (almost daily even), but that was before marriage, before I was an 'adult,' before I didn't have a near-full-time job, and before I was this close to being done with school.  So for the sake of friends, family, and anyone else who may give a rip, I'm gonna try this out again, just for kicks and to have a reason to blab. :) Hopefully this doesn't sound too Christmas-cardish.

The past few months:
Jake and I got married in July and took our honeymoon to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.  I really enjoyed the resort, but one of my highlights (as ridiculous as it'll sound) was landing in Scranton- the 'hometown' of the television show "The Office".

We now live in Essex, with our dog Emery in a beautiful little house (that was far more than we were expecting for just being married--we're so blessed!) We really enjoy being married, and are finding we've got lots to learn along the way.

For me, I'm expecting a degree in Christian Ministry in May of 2010 (oh so close!) but am currently working at a US Cellular selling cell phones (which I really, really love doing!).  I'm not really sure what I'll be 'doing' with the degree after that, but I know it will come in handy working with youth group, other church activites and even in interacting with the public at my job.  I've truly learned a lot!

Jake is currently working for his parent's at their farm.  It's harvest so I don't get to see him a whole lot, but as a result I've had an opportunity to start getting boxes from moving in unpacked and other 'round the house chores done.

The biggest 'thing' in our life right now is being on the verge of beginning the Financial Peace University.  We really want to do what we're supposed to in being wise with our money (since we don't have a very good track record for that).  Since we got married we've paid off a significant portion of our debt, and we're excited to get rid of the rest of it.

So, there's a quick update of where we are right now, don't be surprised if you get a similar letter in about a month! ;)
